Angler Points Update

Were now one month into the Angler Points Leaderboard with a few of the key players racking up a few thousand points already!  Angler feedback has been generally positive about the new addition of points, as its a great way to increase competition and status within the tight knit community that we have.

That being said, we realize the system isn’t perfect yet, and also ran into a few *snags* (forgive my fishing alliterations, just had too).  We’ve made some new adjustments to the leaderboard rules to even things out more and ensure that anglers are getting rewarded properly and proportionally.  We decreased the points for certain activities such as rating and commenting (although you still get points for this) and we also put some caps on a few things so that no one gets out of control :)  -  There is a now a daily cap for how many points you get for rating and commenting as well as a weekly cap on how many points you get from any 1 individual angler per item type (i.e. you only get up to 1 pt. per week per single angler per content).  If your adding great stuff, then many anglers will give you points and you don’t need to sweat.  We just wanted to limit any 2 or 3 anglers giving themselves too many points (boosting for you video game nerds out there) in any given day/week.

Full Breakdown of Changes:
1.  Rating now = 0.25 pts  (daily pts cap of 1, come back tomorrow and rate some more!)
2.  Commenting now = 0.25 pts (daily pts cap of 1, come back tomorrow and chat it up!)
3.  Embed videos now = 2 pts (no cap, just reduced points slightly)
4.  Receive a 4/5 star rating = 1 pt (no daily cap, but you can only receive 1 pt / individual angler per content in a week)
5.  Receive a comment = 1 pt (no daily cap, but you can only receive 1 pt / individual angler per content in a week)

We’ve also added 3 new FishAddix Rank levels:
1.  250,000 = Champion
2.  500,000 = Infamous Angler
3.  1,000,000 = Platinum Level FishAddix

No other changes to the main points structure, to get the most points your best bet is to get out fishing and post those fishing reports (10pts)!  Adding Places to Fish (5pts) is also a quick and easy way to grab some rank points!  Fish on friends… Fish ON!
