At the end of the day, its always great to be in the outdoors fishing, but you’d still rather be catching fish than just chucking lures all day.  Getting relevant information easily is the key to catching more fish…

If you talk to professional fishermen they will tell you its good practice to keep a fishing log.  Write down what worked, what didn’t work, the conditions, etc. The reason for this is because you can go back into your notes and see what worked for you (and what didn’t work).   Many of us assume we will be able to remember from a few years ago, but if you go fishing as much as we do, too many stories and too many trips melt together into a blurry picture of what we “think” worked and what “actually” worked.

It can, sometimes be a tedious exercise, but the long term benefits from tracking your fishing outings & outcomes, provides you the track record of all your testing and tweaking strategies while on the lake.  Why waste your time trying something, which you already tried, and found out didn’t work?  Nowadays we all have less free time anyways.
